The season is here! And with it comes the much-anticipated return of the Italian Film Series, hosted by Tony Mangione, now at Regal Naples.
The series kicks off the weekend of December 12–13 with Napoli New York, a film Tony considers one of the best of the decade. We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing this wonderful film to Naples audiences. Stay tuned for the remaining titles in the series, which will be announced soon!
Missed the conversation? Here's a recent interview with series founder Tony Mangione on the 239 Live podcast!
As always, this series would not be possible without the generous support of Regal, along with the continued generosity of Naples Cinematheque donors. We are grateful to all of them for helping make these screenings happen.
And there's more! Alongside the Italian Film Series, Naples Cinematheque will be presenting three, special two-day film series at the Norris Center, coinciding with my Artis—Naples Lifelong Learning lecture series.
Cinematheque Stories at Norris Center
January 26–27, 2027: “Dancing Cheek to Cheek: The Films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers” — Eight Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musical masterpieces over two days.
February 16–17, 2027: “Gadg: The Films of Elia Kazan” — Eight films celebrating one of American cinema’s most influential directors.
March 11, 2027: “In Memoriam: Robert Duvall” — An eight-film retrospective honoring the extraordinary career of one of America's great actors.
It’s official! We’ve opened the Naples Cinematheque Lobby Store! You can now buy individual issues of the Naples Cinematheque Zine there, or subscribe and have every new issue delivered straight to you. It also makes a great gift for the film lover in your life this season.
And now, for perhaps the biggest news of all. We are working closely with several community leaders to secure a permanent location that will become the official home of Naples Cinematheque! This is an exciting and ever-evolving story, and while there is still work to be done, we are getting closer to making something truly special happen. When the ink is dry, we'll be announcing the location of Naples' first official art-house cinema!
Until then, stay tuned as we continue this magical movie mystery tour!
